Our Mission:
It is our mission to provide comprehensive, individualized and mindful service to all clients who seek vocal modulation. Practice is evidence-based, clinically sound and directed towards functional skill while preserving cultural integrity and personal identity.
Why I chose this profession:
In my early life, my grandmother was impacted by a severe stroke which left her unable to speak. It was so difficult to see her so frustrated, and unable to meet her daily needs or simply say “I love you”. This experience early on drove me to pursue a career which would empower individuals and families who had similar experiences to mine. Later in life, my father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. As the disease progressed, his communication skills decreased as well. My own, difficult life experiences have become an inspiration. They are now woven into my professional life and have led me to a profound professional goal: to reduce or eliminate communication frustration for individuals and families, throughout every aspect of their own life.
How long has Ann been doing this:
Ann has enjoyed working with clients and families over the course of fifteen years of practice in her field. She has a great deal of experience with the different subsets of speech which require intervention as well as ESL and international speakers. She also has experience with voice therapy, and the succinct characteristics of voice, respiration, intonation, and resonance which are key players in the initial phases of accent modification.
